Corporate Microsoft 365 tenants often quarantine mail from senders they have not seen before — the message is silently withheld and never reaches your Inbox or your Junk folder. If nothing shows up within a few minutes, that is usually why, and an administrator can release it from the Microsoft 365 Defender quarantine. Codes expire after ten minutes; requesting a new one is free.
